October Half Term Halloween | Lulworth Castle

Welcome to Purbeck Art Weeks Festival May 25th – June 9th 2019.
Open Studios including paintings, photography, ceramics, sculpture, glass work and mosaics, digital art, textile art and much more plus internationally renowned music ensembles, inspiring exhibitions, and fascinating talks come together every year in beautiful venues across Purbeck on the stunning Jurassic coast
Purbeck Art Weeks (PAW) is offering yet another superb programme of music, talks and artists’ Open Studios and exhibitions across Purbeck.
This year’s theme is ‘Flights of Fancy’ loosely inspired by the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci.
An eclectic and inspiring group exhibition in the magnificent Rollington Barn is showing the work of over 100 PAW artists. This is a good place to start – with delicious refreshments in the Courtyard Café. The adjacent Byre houses a celebration of art and creativity by hundreds of local children from 17 schools across Purbeck. Pop up lunchtime gigs are written up on the Barn door.
It’s Valentine Day so to celebrate 💕 take a look at Lulworth Castle which is within very easy walking distance of The Pink House. Built to entertain royalty, the stunning 17th century castle is set at the heart of the family-owned Lulworth Estate in extensive rolling parkland, with sea views, a 15th Centruy church and private Roman Catholic chapel in the grounds. Through history Lulworth Castle has played host to countless guests, including seven monarchs, and today it offers a breathtakingly beautiful backdrop for fairy tale weddings in a truly iconic setting on the Jurassic Coast. Weddings usually take place most Saturdays throughout the summer but otherwise the 12,000 acre Lulworth Estate Castle & Park is open every day to the public with woodland walks, peacocks roaming wild, croquet, archery, old fashioned games on the lawn and homemade cakes and refreshments on site at the Lulworth Castle Tea Rooms.
